i recently purchased this antenna, i wanted something short. soit is the lenth i required, the problem i am having with the antenna,in so239 mounting, i got a new trunk lip mount and screwed my new antenna down and it was coming up shorted when all the way tight. so we ended putting a smallpiece of nylon to keep it from shorting, so now swr best we can get is 2.7 to 1,when we looked into the base of antenna, it has a very small insulator ring along outside edge of connector, the insulation needs to be larger to protect the center pin from shorting out.i dont know if anyone else had this problem , but just wanted to let buyyer beware, 73 de aj9j

Poor construction

Good idea, bad execution. Fittings are sloppy. The set screws strip VERY easily. The 2 piece whip adjustment set-up jams very easily. Got it to work for a while, but now that I need to re-adjust the antenna, I'm out of luck. If I can get the whip section removed, I might be able to replace it with a better quality, heavier duty section.
