Reviews Summary for KD9SV DXPedition RX Antenna Switch w. Dual Preamp
Reviews: 3 Average rating: 5.0/5 MSRP: $269.95
Description: Heres the ultimate unit for the active low band dxer. Combines the Front End Saver, dual band (160-80 meters) variable gain pre-amplifier and a four-position antenna switch in to one easy-to-use package. Originally designed for DXpeditons, this unit is sure to be on the wish list of all low band dxers. Will work with all amplifiers and includes a heavy-duty relay for older style amps. The four position antenna switch will allow you to select four different receive antennas while giving you front-end protection and a variable dual band pre-amp. You can also by pass the unit and use the transmit antenna when you are operating on the higher bands or if you want to use the low band transmitting antenna.
New Improved Solid State Switching design.

KD9SV has redesigned the front end saver with a lightning fast solid state amplifier keying relay. This is a significant improvement to an already state-of-the-art product and will give years of trouble free service. This redesign will work with all amplifiers.

Product is in production.

Great Stuff, Garry!  Time owned: more than 12 months
Owned for more than three years ago to work with my IC-746 without any problem. Couldn't think I can RX weak CW signals on 160m without it. Thanks to Garry KD9SV and Craig K1QX.

Excellent Product and Support  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
The Pre-Amp is an excellent product: Well built, operationally effective, and a well thought out solution for Low Band use with multiple RX antennas. Also has a built in Amp relay which i have used as a stand along product from KD9SV's collection. Craig Clark the owner provides a level of support and knowledge that makes doing business with him a pleasure. I/we had a slight glitch with a recent order and he provided a quick and acceptable solution. It is easy to complement customer service when all goes according to plan, but to complement a company when something requires a little extra is what separates the men from the boys! GREAT JOB CRAIG!

Great for Lowband Dx work  Time owned: more than 12 months
I've been using this unit for a couple of years now, primarily to protect my radios from excessive RF input coupled to my RX antenna input from the nearby transmit antenna. Mine is the older unit that uses a sequence of relays to disconnect the RX antenna, short the RX antenna input, and key the amplifier during transmit.

I'm using it with an Elecraft K3 transceiver, and have found the switching to be fast and reliable, while the selectable preamp provides some needed gain on my puny receive antenna. One of the four selectable antenna inputs is wired to an Elecraft XG-2 RF generator for testing purposes.
