Fixes some of the complaints about the 12-259
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months

What's new:
Spiffy new red color case
Rechargeable/Alkaline switch in battery case
Recharges batteries in radio when attached to AC
Volume range shifted lower and now more suitable for casual listening
What's same:
Same tone confirmation intensive menu
Not able to toggle tornado warning
Can program up to 10 locations
Can switch to travel mode which picks up ALL warnings and counties
High battery drain (but not having to pull rechargeables out every two days to recharge them makes up for it a little bit)
Fixed stubby antenna
Bottom line:
Took a fairly sophisticated affordable Public Safety alert radio and fixed the major useability complaints about it (needs a recharging cradle and sounds too loud for checking reports)
