Great

I have had the 2002A and 2006A for around 10 years. They both put out 800W for 30w drive. The 6M amp lost its low voltage transformer, had no problem getting a new one. In the '80's ran 2m EME with a 2002 (pair 3CX400's). On that amp I rewired the grid meter to read half scale for increased output on EME, never lost a tube.

Good 6 meter amp
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

I own the 2006 6 meter amplifier. It is a good amp that does about 750 watts out and takes about 25-30 watts of drive. It has a clean on air sound. It is a little cranky to tune, as the input tuning requires the top off the amp. The 3CX800A7 is a reliable tube and gives about 13 db of gain. I installed additional fans in the back of the amp as it got pretty hot when I was contesting, however with the additional fan it runs very cool. The input relay was a little "funky", so I changed the input and output relays to a DPDT high power relay, and the input SWR really straightened out. It is not an 8877, however for a portable amp that will play well...it fills the bill.

750 watt or 1500 watts rugged, reliable
|
Time owned: unknown months
|

My HENRY 2002A (2M 800 watts output, 25-35 w drive)and 3006A (6M 1500+ watts output, 35-50 watts drive) are the last word in rugged, reliable VHF/UHF (6M, 2M, 220, 70CM) amplifiers. When you need to get through on meteor scatter or sporadic E or any other modes, I work things I can barely hear with ease! One look inside tells why these amplifiers set themselves apart from the competition!
