Great Product

Seems to be built very well and has certainly cut down on my cluster of cables coming into the shack down to one. Easy to wire, just be sure to use 8 pin cinch plugs on end so your able to have a quick disconnect on each end if needed.

Organizes a nest of cables

Mounted the ratpack just outside the shack. All antennas are grounded when not in use and only 1 coax coming in.
I didn't like the small knob so switched it with another. (K2 knob left over since I used the Yaesu knob on that). The K2 knob works great.
Installation is easy. The relay box was not watertight in the top corners (manual says to check and use paint to seal, I used silicone caulk). This is not a problem and easy to seal.
The switch works well and makes comparing antennas easy.
Overall a good solid addition if you have more than a few antennas to manage.

Great switch... lousy mounting bracket

The switch is first rate... sure beats the old drake stepper I had that didn't want to turn when the WX was cold... but the mounting bracket is pathetic! It barely hangs on to the tower. C'mon Jay, you can do better than that!

I have two RATPak units. I use one to switch antennas, and the other to switch rigs. They work great... and they are a great convenience.

Built like a tank

I bought this switch from Jay last year. WOW! words can not describe how sturdy and reliable this switch is. I run huge amounts of power from my Henry 2K classic X though this thing with high swr sometimes and have never had a problem. Jay is the man you want to deal with. To heck with all those cheapo plastic box switch's. This thing will be the last remote switch you ever need to buy in you lifetime.

Works great, no problems

Very simple to interface to the Alpha DAS (intelligent antenna selector) box. Has been in service for > 1 year no problems. 87A -> DAS -> RatPak provides automatic amplifier tuning (87A) and antenna selection (DAS); just transmit on the radio and eveything downstream is automatic. Handles RTTY at 1.5 kW without any complaints.

Excellent product

WX0B, and Array Solutions have a winner here. Before I would let one be shipped to Yukon, I wanted assurance that it would not fail in our cold weather. Jay, WX0B provided immediate improvement by insulating the box. Jay and I agreed that I might need a resistive heater to help, or energize one of the relays continuously, but to try the insulated box first.
Last winter, the insulated RatPak Jay sent was
enough by itself to let the relays function error free during our cold Yukon winter with no added heaters or wasted current in an unused relay.
The heat from just one occasionally used relay in the insulated RatPak by Array Solutions kept it warm enough for proper function.
I rated the product so highly because Jay took the time to help anticipate and work through potential problems before they occurred. With a great product and service to match, the combination should yield a solid sense of comfort to anyone that has chosen a RatPak as their switch.

I have used another brand of switch that failed in a short time due to weather. This one has worked well, with no measurable loss on 160 through 10. The inside switch is sturdy and looks good. The outside box has held up well with no leaks or breakdown.

Great Product!

I used other similiar type products for many years and found this product by chance a couple weeks ago. Just by looking at the pictures and reading the specs. I knew I had to have this switch.
The switch arrived yesterday (as promised) and looks better in person than in the pictures. The case's and componets are well constructed with attention given to every detail. This is a keeper! I wish I found this product years ago.
Another point that needs to be mentioned. In dealing with the owner, Jay Terleski, I found him to be receptive to my needs and responsive to my questions. It was a true pleasure to deal with him, and would recommend his product without hesitation. Vince NT4I
