OK, we all know Ameritron/MFJ quality is the worst. So you make your purchase and you take your chance. I bought this unit to power my shack and to use with a future purchase of an ALS-500. I ordered direct from MFJ. The first unit arrived with a fixed 10 volts out - no regulation, right out of the box. I called MFJ - they sent UPS out a week later to pick up the unit. 2 weeks plus later I received another new unit. Plugged it in and it appeared to work with no load. I plugged my IC-746Pro into it and with a 10 amp draw it stopped regulating. I plugged a fixed 4 amp load into it and it dropped to 10 volts from 13.6 volts in 20 seconds !
In my ball game two strikes and your out - calling MFJ tomorrow to return the Unit. Worst quality no-quality control I have ever seen.
Don't Buy One of These !
