I've sent a number of ham and marine radios to Lee over the past couple of years. He's done yeoman service in repairing even the most difficult ones.
Excellent work and very reasonable prices.
Will I use him again? You betcha!
Thanks, Lee

Had an accident during a radio mod. Lee got my Yaesu FT-857D up and running in no time! He's highly competent and I've already recommended him to several friends.
I'll definitely use him in the future.

Nice touches!

I sent my FT101ZD to Lee for service and to desolder an Inrad filter off the chassis for me. He did an excellent job, including replacing several dry capaciters, contact cleaner, etc. Before Lee did his magic, there was an annoying drift and blinking on the hz readout; now steady as a rock. No blinking and no drift. He found a loose screw that I lost when installing the INRAD filter. He sent me a high definition digital photo of the screw in a very bad place, along with other pictures. We talked twice on the phone and exchanged several emails.
Lee will get my boatanchor work in the future. Highly recommended!

I purchased a used Icom IC-725, and it needed display bulbs, and the frequency shows was off slightly. I took it to Lee for a tune up. Lee is a pleasure to talk to, and seems to know his stuff. I dropped it off one day, and picked it up the next. The price was great! I would recommend him to anyone with a radio concern. He works on all makes and models.

Alinco DX-70T Lee worked a Miracle!
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
Lee at Technical Specialists, LLC Worked a "Miracle".
I had sent my Alinco DX-70T to a major repair facility a couple of years ago. Won't mention names but the initials are R.S....and that's not a ham's initials.
At that time, they listed Amateur Radio Transceivers as one of the many products that they repaired so I sent it off to them for repair as needed.
After a couple of weeks including shipping time both ways, they returned it as NOT REPAIRABLE with no other notes in the package. They must have spent a grand total of 5 minutes looking at it and gave up!
The radio stayed in the corner gathering dust until I decided to do some serious searching on the web for someone to repair this "un-repairable" rig.
This is when I found Lee at Technical Specialists.
I sent it to him after a couple of emails describing the problem it had. He stated it would be a 50/50 chance that he could get it working correctly but he would give it a go.
Well, here is where the "miracle" comes in...it is now back in it's original operating condition and works great. Parts were under $9.00 for the repair plus about 3 hours of very reasonable labor for his miracle expertise!
Needless to say, I would highly recommend Lee at Technical Specialist, LLC Tampa, Fl.
I am now a happy camper!

Yaesu FT 736R repair
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
I had the pleasure of Meeting Lee of Technical Specialist, LLC (Tampa). MY yaesu FT 736r vhf/uhf transceivers 222 module was not putting out any Power(RF). I took it over to his shop off I 4. Well he repaired it.
Not everyone out there can fix this type of Radio, but the Doc fixed it. Lee is a great person to deal with and very straight forward.
Would I use his services again.. You bet ya.
Thanks Lee for a very fine and timely repair.
You have a Customer for life. 73 and thanks Ed WP4o, Tampa Florida

Best all around repair service!

This review is long overdue, I had Lee at Technical Specialists, LLC in Tampa, Fl. take a look at my Kenwood TS-480HX, which I thought was working improperly. I live just across the state from Lee, we corresponded by email as I outlined my perceived problems with my radio.
I boxed up my TS-480 and shipped it to Lee. After the radio had been in Tampa a week, I got a call from Lee, saying he could find no problems with the radio. I told him what problems I had experienced with the radio, Lee agreed to take a closer look at the 480.
In all Lee had my radio for 2 weeks, pretty much took it apart and reseated the 3 main boards and did some on air testing and pronounced it cured, and returned it to me, at a cost that was way below what I had figured it would be.
If, at any time, no matter what rig I have, and, I need service, Lee at Technical Specialists, LLC will get my business with out a second thought. Lee is excellent technician, is prompt, and gives great service at a more than decent fee. Give Lee a call drop him an email, I'm sure you will be well pleased with Lee at Technical Specialists, LLC.

Yaesu FT-2000 repairs
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
Last month the local power company lost a ground on the transformer that serves my QTH. This caused over 1000Vac to enter the house service. Just about everything in the shack was off. Except for my 2 Yaesu FT-2000s which the internal power supply switch was on for both transceivers. I removed one supply and sent to Yaesu service after about one month they told me it could not be repaired and should be taken out of service. And then wanted to keep the internal supply. Technical Specialists was recommended to me and I sent the other FT-2000 power supply to Lee at Tech. services and within one week had it back repaired and just like new for $86. When I received the second un-repaired power supply from Yaesu I sent it to Tech Services and Lee repaired it also. I highly recommend this company as they are fair, cost to repair are reasonable, and quick turn around. Lee saved me about $700 by making the repairs. That is good service.
