Good rental shack in Zone35  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
UA9CDC and RA9FW had spent about 12 days at "Le Calao" in March 2012. We made 23000 qso during our stay including Russian DX Contest and WPX SSB. Our log is on Contest results can be viewed on the corresponding sites.
The station is in a good shape and maintained by the owner, 6W7RV Jean Francois, very well. Details of the antenna and equipment can be found on his site
If you want to experience simultaneous pileups from EU and USA that is the place to go.
Jean Francois himself is a very interesting and generous person always willing to help. It was a great pleasure to make his aquantance and we had a lot of interesting talks in between the pileups.

a great experience  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
We visited Francois as 6V7Z in late autumn 2010 and it was a remarkable experience. Francois mangaged everything we discussed with great experience and accuracy. We had a wonderful time, pileups all day long, ufb antennas and a exceptional shack. Francois became a real friend during our stay; we had lot of good discussions in the evening, learned a lot abt Africa and 6W. We came for holiday and left as friend, thanks a lot Francois for this experience!!!

Nice DX trip  Time owned: more than 12 months
I spent 2 weeks at "Le Calao" with my XYL in August 2008. It's a nice place to stay with family and run strong pile-ups. 6W7RV Jean Francois and his wife Corine are very friendly and helpful.
Jean Francois arranges the licensing.
Just bring your laptop, headset and have fun!
Senegal offers many beautiful places to visit safely.
