Invaluable for Surviving Power Outages  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have a small (3kw) generator and had a GenTran panel installed when we built the house. We selected only a few critical circuits to be on the generator so as not to overload it. Ten years' worth of power outages have proven this unit to be sound. Highly recommend as the safest way to manually transfer generator and utility power sources. Easy to retrofit, once you decide which circuits you want to support. For us, it was the gas furnace, kitchen and master bedroom and bathroom.

works well  Time owned: more than 12 months
i installed one of these transfer panels about 11 years ago, it has worked well, no problems and it has handled the load from the generator and with the built in meter it is easy to balance the load. it is a 60 amp panel and it has worked with inverters/ battery bank, pto driven generator and winco 10 kw generator.
