One of my favorite Tek scopes  Time owned: more than 12 months
The 7854 is one of the best pieces of equipment in the 7000 series line. Be aware that certain plugins don't operate in the 7854 like they do in other mainframes, primarily due to triggering circuit differences. There is a section in the user manual which lists incompatible or function-limited plugins.

Tek also released a special sampling time base - the 7T11A - for use in this chassis when operating 7S11 sampling modules in the vertical plugin compartments.

It's a bit overkill for duties such as housing a spectrum analyzer or curve tracer plugin, but for complex waveform capture this is a hard piece of equipment to beat. Get the waveform keyboard and accompanying programming manual, then automate your setup processes.

Excellent, versatile scope  Time owned: more than 12 months
This one in the 7000 series is both a 400 MHz analog and a digitizing storage scope combined, and is also a waveform analyzer. All the things combined make for a great scope in the 7000 series that can utilize most all the plug-ins and be a nice all in one scope for repair or experiment use.
