Description:
THE AMP BUFFER IS A SELF CONTAINED UNIT. THE RADIO INPUT IS A NEGATIVE INPUT. PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT RADIO AND AMPLIFIER YOU WILL BE USING. WE ALSO MAKE A MODIFIED BUFFER THAT WILL TAKE A POSTIVE INPUT. ALSO AVAILABLE IS A BUFFER THAT HAS A RELAY IN THE OUTPUT, SOME AMPS HAVE HIGH DC VOLTAGE ON THE KEYING LINE. I.E. SB-220, 3OL-1. JUST TO NAME A COUPLE. PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR THE COST, THEY ARE A LITTLE HIGHER THAN THE STANDARD BUFFER.
The buffer goes between your transceiver and amplifier to protect the radio if there is any type conditon in the amplifier that could feedback and damage your transceiver.

I needed a buffer amp to trigger al-811 from ts-480. 2 availables ones are from ameritron and another from W8MIS which i have used as well.
This is plug and play; if you change the rig, just change the cable to the amp, you are good to go.
W8MIS's cable is hardwired which means you need to get a new unit for each rig vs just a cable.
Paul has done a good job and all thumbs up for it.
