I use it with my OMNI VI and the Buckmaster callsign database CD-ROM, and it works


flawlessly with both.

When I enter a new contact into the log, it will read the radio via the serial port for frequency


and mode. It will read the callsign CD-ROM for the other station's personal information, and of


course it gets the date and time from the computer. All I have to enter is the sent/received


signal reports and whether or not a QSL was sent or received.

It is easy to edit the countries list, or add or delete prefixes and countries.

You can cateogorize contacts by something called a code descriptor. For instance, I use one


code descriptor for all my mobile contacts and another for all my fixed station contacts. I also


have set up code descriptors for each radio and for QRP operation. You can then print your


log entries based on these code descriptors and print only the contacts you want. Built into the


software when you get it are several predesigned reports for WAS, DXCC, 10-10, and the like.

If you're a contester, you're probably using CT or TR-LOG (which are also, DOS-based


programs).

If you're a DX'er you may be using one of the programs that can pick a needed country off the


local packetcluster spotting list, aim the antenna for you, set the rig to the DX station's


frequency, and call you away from the dinner table to make the contact.

But if you need an easy to use logging program that does all the basic functions very well,


including communicate with the radio and callsign database, then the WJ2O software might


be worth consideration.
