Well needed overhaul
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

I received a HAM IV rotator in a package deal. While in reasonably good shape, the rotator was 1979 vintage and needed a general overhaul. Norm replaced the worn parts and the rotor is now like new. As luck would have though, a problem is present in the control box which will need Norm's careful attention. (Should have sent it with the rotor, but this was my mistake, not Norms.)

Quality Workmanship Fair Price

I had a used and broken TX2 & controller that I traded in for a Rebuilt Ham3. Norm gave me a prompt estimate and ensured that I had everything that I needed to start twisting the antennas! The exchange price was fair; the Ham3 is better than new; and the service was great. Thanks Norm. 73 Rich

Super Service

After attempting to install heli-coils in my 21 year old HD-73 rotor I managed to destroy the upper rotor housing (should have used a drill press). I thought that I was out of luck and also out about $400 for a new rotor. I just knew that no-one on earth would have a new replacement housing......NOT!
I sent an e-mail to Norm on Monday, got a response back in about 6 minutes informing me that a brand new housing was available at $37 postpaid. Well, I had the new housing in my hands on Friday! Unbelievable is the only way I can describe my experience with Norm's Rotor Service. Thanks Norm!

GREAT DEAL
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

Several years ago I sent Norm an Alliance HD-73 rotor for repair & he rebuilt the rotor in trade for my EXTRA HD-73 control box as payment. The rotor worked GREAT & I was VERY happy.I have since replaced the HD-73 with a Yaesu 800DXA but the new owner of the HD-73 still uses it today.I just "WISH" Norm worked on Yaesu rotors should I EVER need mine repaired & I know a few folks who could use the repairs NOW!

What A Great Company
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

In 2003 sent my rotor to Norm for complete overhaul and received back my Rotor as if it was brand new. This past weekend I developed a problem with the rotor and sent an email to Norm's for advice. His response was timely, and explained to me the issue and what to do going forward. His response solved my problem and the cost factor was pure courtesy from a very reputable company. It is a pleasure dealing with a company that really knows there business and there customer service is beyond reproach. JOB WELL DONE.

I sent Norm two HD-73's that will be used for Field Day that needed rebuilding. He e-mailed me when he received the rotators with an expected completion date which was accurate. I received another e-mail when the rotators were ready and payment via credit card was painless at a fair price.

I bought a reconditioned Ham IV rotor and control back in October 2000 and installed it on my 40 foot Rohn 25G tower. It has been in service since that time and I have not had any problems with it. I saved over $100 by going with the reconditioned rotor over a new one and feel it was a great deal. The rotor and control looked like new when I received it. Good job Norm.

Honest and excellent work!

First I thought it wil be redundant to repeat all the praises I read about the work of Norm's Rotor Service, but then I felt compelled to do it because such an outstanding job has to be acknowledged and emphasized.
Years ago, I had a very bad experience with another rotor repair service which claimed that did not receive my old Ham IV rotor, not paid for it and blamed me for sending it by United States Postal Service.
The postal inspector to whom I sent a copy of his letter answered that they have received several similar complaints about the same repair service. Amazingly, it is still around these days.
It has to be shown to the radio amateur community that honest and excellent work still can be found.
Thanks Norm!!!

I had a similar experience to the previous reviewer. I exchanged an 18 year old Hygain CD-45II for an upgraded new unit and just received the check for the balance after return and repair of the old rusted unit. Honest and timely service and the exchange service is just right. Highly recommend using Norm's for any rotor repair or just questions as his e-mails were prompt and complete.

Failed Rotator Solutions
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months

I just wanted to post a review of Norm's Rotor Service.
I think that Norm is providing a great service for the Ham Radio community. Several weeks ago my trusty T2X antenna rotator failed on the tower and locked in at 330 Deg. Since the unit had been in service with no maintenace on my part for 24 years, I figured it was time for a new one. Talk about sticker shock! The price of replacement was high in my book.
Not to Fear, Norm's has the solution. They have an exchange program that I feel is a sweet deal...
I contacted them, and within a week or so I received a rebuilt, new in appearance, T2X. I was able to swap out the units on my tower in a few hours and boom!....I'm back in the swing of radio'n. I shipped my old unit back to Norm's, and they are going to rebuild it for a flat rate labor plus parts. I don't have the final cost yet, but it appears it will be less than half the cost of a new one. This will vary, of course depending on how badly my unit is damaged. Quick and easy, and I keep the unit I was shipped. I highly recommend that you check with Norm's for any and all rotator needs - Good service, honest dealings; what more could a Ham want?
