Mine was bought several years ago and bears the "Vector" name and lacks the "BD" suffix on the model number, so it's possible that the product has changed (other than cosmetically) since B&D took over Vector.
I used it for some time with a Group 31 Deep Cycle Marine battery and now am using it with a pair of 6V Golf Cart batteries in series.
It does well in the initial charging stages, but then cuts the power altogether and only occasionally switches into "Float" mode, so most of the time the voltage is less than 13.0.
It generates a considerable amount of RFI.
The original 50mm fan (which runs continuously) was noisy and did not last long. I replaced it with one I bought from a local computer store, but that is now getting very noisy too and will have to be replaced.
Overall, I'd say that this would do much better as a car or boat battery charger than for amateur radio use.
