An outstanding tuner just right for low and medium power operations. Excellent components and construction, easy to use, and will last forever given reasonable care. Choose this tuner over newer, cheaper models...that is if you're fortunate enough to find one!!!

Great Tuner!

I give this tuner a 5 because it is simple to use, is madewith high quality components and looks great inside the box. I used mine with a windom from 10 to 160 and it would load up fine. Only drove it barefoot so I can't speak to its ability to handle power. Its now semi retired as I use a SteppIR on 6-20 so I use it only on 40 and 80 through a butternut vertical. The auto tuner on my rig did'nt like the vertical but I think you can load a door frame with the 901! Its a keeper.

EXCELLENT TUNER
|

The unit consists of a T match atu with switched
coil, a 4 way antenna switch and and SWR/Power meter. The unit will handle the output of any of the modern transceivers including the FT1000D,1000MP MKV, IC775DSP, FT101ZD and TS-950SD(X). Although it is rated to 500W I would not suggest driving it via a linear into badly mismatched loads.
Three coaxial feeds can be selected and while
there is no provision for directly feeding balanced systems, it does have a facility to feed a single wire.
The overall construction is substatially better than the cheaper independent manufacturers 300W tuners. The v/caps are not close spaced rx types
and the switches are ceramic.
I have never had any trouble with this tuner.
