Fantastic Radio  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is the original Starrgratt 1 radio . The other Starrgratt is a Starrgratt 2 radio is of an advanced prototype design . OK about the Starrgratt 1 This radio I bought at Ebay about two weeks ago . I had one like this about two years ago but let it go when I received the starrgratt 2 . Inside this radio are different screw in band coils 4 all together plus one you can build for any frequency you want . Showing is the night time green colored top mount coil . In front of that is a regen control one coil going inside of another coil by a long screw inside the cabinet with silver knob on it . To the right is a big black knob I put in for antenna trim and this works real well . In the back of the cabinet you see a black numbered knob this is for main tuning and fine tuning as it is hooked up to a 10 turn precision potentiometer with a varactor diode . To the right of this knob is the volume control and it really gets loud . Where the antenna trim and the tuning control are . This is what I changed , there used to be a fine tuning regular potentiometer and a main tuning regular potentiometer or in other words about 270 degrees turn . Not like the ten turn precision potentiometer I put in for tuning . Well any way this is also a great radio for regular listening or for listening to hams . It is fantastic for tuning all kinds of signals and makes a great set to own . Can be had on Ebay sometimes .
