Very rich and detailed  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
At a going rate of $200, it's worth it, open box deals can be had for $150. I know of very few mics that do what this does. I have tons of mics, been in audio four+ decades, (I change mics like socks anyway) Nice CNC machined aluminum body. As mentioned by the previous reviewer, it has emphasis on the bottom and top, that hard SSB peaky mid is gone, yet the detail remains & with a rich bottom, it's a great rag-chew mic. It's fine as it is, but If you can EQ, try a 6db notch, only cutting out between 120Hz-200Hz then to a 3db notch at that 2nd harmonic at 320Hz about a 1/4 octave wide, then forget the rest for a while and talk. This is not a 'Ham Boutique' Mic, it sounds like a voice. And very articulate for 'voice overs' as well..

Great for Extended SSB  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Bought this dynamic mic after using 48V phantom-powered Apex 420 for many years. This Audix D6 reminds me of my days in broadcasting! Excellent audio characteristics! It's response is not flat, with slight emphasis on lows and highs - great sound! Many on-air compliments! ...and I am not running audio chain processing at all! This mic rocks with phone/SSB.
