Reviews Summary for W3NQN AC Power-Line Filter
W3NQN AC Power-Line Filter Reviews: 1 Average rating: 5.0/5 MSRP: $100.00
Description: The NQN 7-amp AC line filter was developed for high-level RF interference environments, where computer and monitor power-line noise causes a problem with sensitive receivers, as well as with critical listening and recording environments such as high-end audio studios, home theaters, and audiophile stereo systems. The NQN AC line filter is especially effective in eliminating the high-level AC line noise generated by the six or more computer/monitor systems used by amateur radio operators during multi-multi contesting.
Product is in production.

Solved Laptop AC Adapter RFI Problem  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Having purchased a cheap replacement AC adapter for my laptop PC, I was plagued with severe RFI from the AM broadcast band up through the HF bands. The W3NQN AC-7 AC Line Filter reduced the RFI to an almost imperceptible level.

I replaced the 1 ft. cord provided with the filter (with the IEC receptacle compatible with desktop PC's and monitors) with a 1 ft. cord with an IEC Class 1-C5 receptacle (compatible with most laptop PC AC adapters). If you need to replace the line cord, make sure the cord has a circular cross-section, so that it can be tightly gripped where it enters the filter chassis. Suitable line cords are available from Marlin P. Jones and Associates, and elsewhere. You'll want to cut off the receptacle end as short as possible (1 ft. or less) to reduce emissions of RF hash from the PC's power supply. Be aware that any such modification of the filter should be done with care, and will void any manufacturer's warranties for the unit.

Array Solutions provided prompt delivery of the unit, as well as helpful information before I ordered it. Highly recommended!
