Love it  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Got this antenna primarily for a scanner but the scanner uses BNC connection and while waiting for the adapter I temporarily plugged it into my Kenwood TMD710a and within minutes was rocking and rolling. One thing I do recommend is assembling the antenna after the hub is installed on the mast. 2 longer vertical radials make it a bit difficult to assemble on the ground. Other than that, it's a great antenna.

Wow - Great Surprise  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought this at the BART hamfest last Saturday for $35.00. I asked the vendor if it was junk or a good antenna, and he said it was good. I have a Diamond discone up to compare it with ($110.00). This thing is built like a brick. Solid elements. The 1.25" mast inset was easy to work with: 8 inches of tubing from home depot ($3.14). I have it fed with LMR400 at 20 feet and it's the diamond's equal. Yes, the so-239 connection stabilizes the bulkhead as you tighten it, that's no issue. It hears and transmits as advertised. Forget MFJ and Radio Shack, in my humble opinion. This is a good discone at a deep discount.

Poor, poor, poor.  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
What can I say, expecting too much at a ridiculously low price. This was originally a mobile antenna that was adapted (not very well) for fixed station use. It uses a pipe fitting to change the original mount to a 1.5 inch pipe. The feed line goes down the CENTER of the mast, not outside. Not to mention that it is a little flimsy. The fancy radial scheme is all window dressing as the top-most verticle element is just a whip from a mobile antenna. If you're looking for a broad band antenna for general listening around or scanner use, splurge something a little more robust.
