Not a bad HT  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
For the money the UV-5R+ is not bad. I have had no issues with the radio so far.
A friend of mine who has one of these showed me how to get the 3800 Ma battery to adapt to the rig by filing down the tab on the top of the pack.
I measured the 20 dB and SINAD on the receiver and it beat published specs by almost 4 dB.
The 2nd harmonic of the transmitter has a lot to be desired. At the 1 watt setting the 2nd harmonic was only down -30 dB and at the 4 watt level the 2nd was down -43 dB. How did the radio get type accepted?
For 50 bucks however you get what you pay for.
