Time warp transceiver  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I received this 'mobile' rig and mains PSU off ebay last week in remarkable condition considering 40 years or more has passed since these came off the production line.
Power out was 17W PEP and replacing the inexpensive PA sweep tube and driver brought this up to 25W max.
Receive is sensitive and quite impressive.
The crystal control with VXO is pretty limiting, specially on some bands where the swing is only 3khz but nevertheless remarkable contacts can be made-the first to Madagascar and a 'just copied' from the Falkland Islands. Next task is to get a couple more crystals to make operating easier.
Downside is the relay is unobtanium (same as FT101 RL1) and receive was intermittent. Cleaning with contact cleaner strip cured that but another contact-the antenna changeover then was not making and required a little bending so now its fine but does not inspire confidence.
All in all a fun rig and nice to see the soothing glow of filaments within.
Product is not in production.
