I own two of them, and really enjoy having a radio that just works. The first one was purchased locally, and hasn't given me a single issue. The second one was purchased on eBay, and had the crackle during transmit, flickering display, and a noisy pot on the volume. I replaced the screen, added star washers to the screws, and cleaned the volume pot. It works great now. I am using one as a base with a cushcraft arx-2b, and can talk simplex to the other one about 25 miles away with a quarter wave antenna. Audio is okay, no intermodal problems, but the radios are both overly selective when you use pl tones.
