Solid performance  Time owned: more than 12 months
The previous reviewer is in error--the 706 series was not on the market in 1991, even the original model. I got my MKIIG shortly after they came on the market and the rig has given me solid performance. I've used it fixed, portable, and mobile. The only band I have not used it on is 160. I've used it in numerous contests, although it is NOT a competition level rig. It has served me well. If I were on an island, this is the rig I would want with me.
