ICOM Tech Support  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Four days old. Just bought the unit 4 days ago.

I've been in the communications business over 40 years, built this, done that. Taught electronics etc, etc.. 1st class w/Radar endorsement. I may be dumb but not stupid.

Now after 4 days learning the 7000, with the unit sitting on my desk, listening to my local airport trafic, a short whip on the uhf/vhf side, the radio quits receiving on everything thru this antenna port. Power reset, reset CPU, memory, checked power supply, checked antenna still nothing.
Antenna works on my R7100 as does receive freqs.

Ok so I contact ICOM tech support and am told, in a surly tone, "Oh, you had a static discharge thru your antenna. Whaaa????? Send it back for evaluation/repair." The guy didn't try to listen to my problem description, what I've done, nothing. SEND IT BACK..
Hope others don't fare as well as I have.

Have not even transmitted yet. The HF side receive fine, no problems.
