Great radio - good DX within an hour of plugging it in.  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Just turned on my new FT-950 today after putting up a new Cobra Ultralite multi-band antenna today. After an hour of twiddling with the controls and referring to the manual, I was having QSOs w/ HAMS in Missouri, Iowa, and Florida.

Sure, the menus and controls are complex and a little difficult to master, but with time an patience I'm sure they will become quite familiar. I'll be spending a lot of time with the manual. But it is pretty well written and easy to follow.

I also plan on hooking up a CAT interface to my PC and using Ham Radio Deluxe, which should help me master control of the radio.

So far I'm loving this rig.
