VE3BXB Retired Life in the Shack
Hello everyone. Just thought that I would drop you a note to say that I am a retired individual and I have been a HAM since 2004. I really enjoy the HF bands particulary the 75,40, and 20 meter bands, on Single Side Band, with Ham Radio Deluxe. I also spend some time on the 2 meters but I enjoy the HF bands more. I am also a scanner listener as well. I run a TS 2000 and an FT 897D Yeasu along with an MA5B Hf mini beam at 40 feet long with a dual band ground plane at 68 feet on the second tower. In between these two towers I have a couple of dipoles which also seem to perform very well. I just installed a new sloper antenna and I will be also installing a 160 meter dipole very soon. Amateur radio is a lot of fun especially in the winter months when there is not much to do. I do find my self to be on the air much less during the summer months but I guess this is kind of normal. I hope to hear you people on the air waves and have fun Bob VE3BXB
