N4NOO
The car is my fun zone. In the car I have a Kenwood TM-731A VHF/UHF dual band transceiver with a Mirage B-1060 VHF amp and a Mirage D-3010-N UHF amp each feeding its own Larson antenna. HF system is an ICOM 7000, SGC SG-500 Smart Power Cube, Better RF 7000 Antenna Controller, Hi- Q 6/160 RT MC-3H antenna and 25 feet of 4" wide .032" copper strapping under the car, tied to the antenna ground system. The copper runs front to back on both sides and across in several places. This system ALWAYS gets rave reviews. I give most of the credit to the HI-Q antenna, but 500 watts doesn't hurt. Yes I do get a lot of looks driving down the road and in parking lots I do answer the question "What is that?" quite often. And, yes, I can talk to Mars.
