Should field day be moved to a date that is not so hot/humid around most of the country?

Recent Surveys

Of some 3 million total Hams worldwide, the top 6 countries in terms of population are Japan, the U.S.A., Germany, England, Spain, and Canada. From your personal first-hand experience, which country has the best overall operators in terms of courtesy / timing / skill / savvy when it comes to DX pile-up proficiency...? And why...?

Manager - VK5LA
Andy Williss (VK5LA) Welcome to the Survey Page.

The goal is to help us all gain a better understanding of the ham community... what we like... what we don't like... about various aspects of our hobby. Let's make it fun and maybe kick up a little dust once in a while. I hope you all will participate and enjoy the questions.

Please enter your ideas for future survey questions yourself (click on the "Enter your idea" link just above) or send them directly to me at surveymaster@eham.net .

I often get comments that there is a commercial interest in the survey questions and that some of the questions are "rigged"...I assure all eham users that the questions are
in no way influenced by any company, person or persons.
The questions in the survey all come via contributions to eham or are just plain made-up by your humble survey manager.

Please note that there are many potential surveys in our queue, and many of them are duplicates. Sometimes we combine several questions into one. We at eham.net make every effort to present all content in a way that will be easily understandable and useful to an international audience.

Great Resource!
I've been here about a year, and feel it's a great resource. I've bought and sold a lot of radio-related items, and have met some great people on eham. Keep up the great work!

Ehamnet
Been a visitor since day one. Check in daily if not more often. Your site is the best, bar none.

Super site
I have posted several "Wants" on this site and the response was very satisfactory. Most of my test bench equipment and a few neat older rigs are now in my shack thanks to Scott and the fellow hams/check -ins that have responded to my ads.

All the sellers I've dealt with have been honest, cooperative, kind, good communicators, and good packers/shippers. Couldn't ask for a better group of folks.

Thanks for reading, and 73's to all.

Among the most valuable website
This is my most used website, and it ranks very high in importance along with ARRL, eBay, and QRZ. I like looking at opinions placed by others, and in particular, the reviews. Keep up the good work in maintaining this website. 73 - g.

Yep..Weed 'em out
I say weed-out the folks who post the same comment FOUR times in a row!

Posted by SWANMAN on June 20, 2006

I subscribe to e-ham. I think it's a wonderful site with the exception of most of the doom and gloom Bozo's that list a CB handle rather than a callsign. All they do is bitch, moan and complain. Code, no code, Bush's fault or some other lame argument is all they offer. I say weed out these lowlife wannabe's and send them back to good buddy land.

Articles
I come for the articles. I usually export them to my Pocket PC, using an application called Repligo, to read on business trips.

Actually, it's not so much the articles as the comments that follow that are most interesting. Once you sift through the inevitable noise and those who are just plain angry, there is a wealth of detail and amplifying information in the responses. I'll keep coming back.

Posted by K2PI on June 19, 2006

Hmmm...not bad
He said/She said on the product reviews... Don't make/not make YOUR purchase according to them. Take them with a grain of salt.

Posted by SWANMAN on June 17, 2006

Worth the Price of Admission
I always find new info, an old friend, something to laugh at or something that makes me go "Huh?" on a visit to this site.

Gripes
It never ceases to amaze me, some people always have to criticize, If you pay for it then one can give instuctive complaints. Myself I have subscribed. this site is the best, and free if you want it to be, so enjoy it. Dave VA3DUX

Posted by VA3DUX on June 15, 2006

Not too often any more
Used to be that it was pretty often.

The articles need editing - for some reason, the authors on eham use about ten times as many words as required to get their points across. So I just don't have time for that any more.

And the classifieds? Same classifieds are posted here and on QRZ, and you don't have to subscribe to QRZ.

The useful, accessible, information changes about once a month, so that's how often I check.

hamwave better than eHam?
"I visit http://www.hamwave.com more than I come here. But this place is ok.
Posted by K9PO on June 13, 2006"

?? I checked out hamwave.com and found the "swap shop" not working. The site has less than 200 topics on all the discussion boards *combined*. I could not locate any product reviews (my favorite part of eHam). I found it difficult to navigate through the site. I'm assuming you have some vested interest in hamwave to say you like it more than eHam?

Would be nice to limit the access to english speaking people who are citizens of the USA. Can we build a fire wall or something to keep others out? People like G's, F's, and XE's????? That includes most of my realitives..............oh yeah, 160M pig farmers in Georgia too- They don't speak a lot of english their, mostly BS-

Invaluable guide
I examine comments and scores in detail. The larger the sample and higher the score the more I am persuaded to purchase an item. It works well. Subscribers have a right to voice disappointment, and should not be criticised if they do it robustly.

It's my home page. I enjoy the controversy, especially some of the off the wall opinions, which make me realize it's good to be an American, where everyone is able to express their opinion....even if it's wrong! hi hi...

Posted by KD8AMR on June 9, 2006

It happened
Why is there not a never option ? Just kidding, I didn't want KG4RUL to be wrong.lol

Posted by KC9CEW on June 9, 2006

I have no kids, so...
...where else can I turn to for aggravation? :) Again, I doff my hats to you for a great website; keep up the great work!

Posted by WF7A on June 9, 2006

You provide a great service to amateurs. The product reviews help to chose equipment.

This is my home page...guess I need a life huh? It is a great distraction from the rather boring existance at the office...guess it's time to retire??

Posted by AH6FC on June 7, 2006

who can do less?
I am here numerous times during a day. I love the articles and the forums. I try to answer some questions but find that most times WIK, AJR or someone else has beat me to it. I have been a subscriber for a few years and as long as eHAm is here and I am, I will continue to be a paid member. Great site!! Keep the GREAT work coming.

Insight
eham.net offers many things of interest to hams. The product reviews are very useful and thought provoking, and all the posts are informative. Knowing what is on or even in the minds of other hams and some interested non-hams adds to the experience of amateur radio.

Never?
Anyone who wanted to respond "never" would have to change his answer to "only once," and be sure not to return.

This is a great site, I leave a little window open for it all the time if I can, when I'm in the office.

Posted by WB2WIK on June 6, 2006

BEST
I would have to say this is the best site I have found, from news to reviews and whats for sale.I send in my money yearly to help keep this site alive, better than QST or CQ.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.W5RG Bob

It will happen!
SOMEONE will gripe that the survey doesn't have a 'Never' option. C'mon, you know I'm right!
