Storm Spotter Training Precedes Spring Severe-Weather Season
by NG9W on February 4, 2019 Mail this to a friend!
The NWS Service in Paducah, KY, once scheduled a storm spotter training class at a local community college in Southern Illinois. I planned to attend. However, overnight it had snowed 2 - 3 inches. I got to the school. The parking lot is completely deserted. The front door is locked with a note taped inside reading "Storm Spotter class canceled due to inclement weather." I kid you not! What do they think storm spotters are supposed to do in "inclement weather?"
