SOLD!This is supposed to be the 8-pole IF filter for the Alinco DX7-77T HF transceiver. I have good reason to believe it is. I obtained it new from Alinco with the assistance of Cornell Drentea - KW7CD, as I hoped to perform the mod he described elsewhere. Basically, he pulled the existing IF filter from his DX-77T, placed it in series with an identical filter, and then connected the cascaded filters to the PCB from which the original was removed. When I tried to get this part from Alinco, they twice sent something else. KW7CD kindly used his contacts w Alinco to get the right part sent, for which I was not charged.

When I realized the complexity of de-soldering the original filter and attaching the 2nd to it, and then getting this all connected properly to the PCB, I decided not to proceed. I have since sold the unmodified radio. So, this component needs a home w someone capable of doing the mod. Here's the somewhat sketchy reference to it:

I have some old emails from KW7CD from which a hand-drawn illustration attachment was lost, but which might still be useful to anyone already comfortable working in close quarters w small components.

If you both currently OWN an Alinco DX-77T and think you might actually attempt this mod, you are welcome to this component for the price of USPS Priority Mail postage. Shall we say $10? Personal check, USPS stamps, USPS MO all OK. If it costs less than $10 to ship, I'll even refund the difference. If you don't like the component for any reason, then you'll be out what you pay for shipping. I'm only trying to place an orphaned component, not make money. If you DON'T own a DX-77T you can STILL have it, but why would you want it, LOL?

Please contact me at W4MSL at ProtonMail dot com, as my email service randomly treats messages from eHam classifieds as "spoofed" and they are not (reliably) routed to me.
