I picked this controller up for Icom radios a couple of years ago at an estate sale. It appears to be in excellent condition and I have no use for it, nor do I know how it works. The mic cable is Heil for Icom 8 pin to 3 pin XLR. I’ll take $35 includes shipping to Conus.
The BetterRF Company i-Mate transceiver memory controllers implement the external selection of pre-recorded voice and keyed messages for the IC-7800, IC-756 PRO II/III, and keyed messages for the IC-746 PRO. They eliminate the need to shift the display from an operating mode to a memory select mode simply to transmit the prerecorded message. Pressing one of the four buttons on the i-Mates transmits the message associated with that button. In addition, they provide a pulsed, sine-wave oscillator for the tuning of high-powered amplifiers and antenna users and an alternate audio input is provided that can be used for a microphone. They plug directly into the transceiver's microphone jack and receive power from the transceiver.

Additional features include:

* Works with CW and voice (CW only with the ICOM 746 Pro)
* Send memories in the ICOM 756 Pro II, while keeping the spectrum scope on the display
* Easier access to memories, less hand movement
* Heil Pro-Set plugs directly into the i-Mates without the Heil adapter
* A separate PTT switch is provided to key the transceiver for digital modes
* Auxiliary input can be used for digital modes
* A switch (MIC 1) is provided for switching between the standard 8-pin mic connector and auxiliary input (MIC 2)
* Tune button is a pulsed oscillator (about 30 wpm) for tuning, saves finals in the amplifier, 50 percent duty cycle while tuning
* The level of the pulsed oscillator can be adjusted with a small screwdriver
