RBS-2 Receiver (CCT-46217-A) Stromberg-Carlson

Date Posted By Category User IP
2017-08-13********Military/Surplus********
Navy Receiver by Stromberg-
Carlson RBS-2 (CCT-46217-A) is in
excellent condition; put into
service in 1946. Modified with an
S- meter in the upper left corner
of the panel. Includes the hard
to find interface cable to the
external power supply/audio
amplifier which I don't have.
This radio belonged to a local
MARS coordinator who is now a SK.
I've never powered this radio on
but everything inside and out is
clean. There are 11 tubes which
all checked out fine on my tube
tester. No reason why this
receiver should not work with the
appropriate power applied. This
receiver's range is from 2 - 20
Mhz. Asking $200 cash for local
pickup in the New York/New Jersey
Metro area.

WW2 BC-224A HF Receiver

Date Posted By Category User IP
2017-07-09********Military/Surplus********

This WW2 HF receiver covers 1500 Kc to 18 Mc in six switchable bands. The receiver is in working condition and has an internal 115 VAC power supply so no conversion is necessary. The receiver comes with military type LS-3 loudspeaker, and the hard to find shock mounts.
The receiver is being offered on a try before buy basis, $200 cash and carry. I will consider shipping the radio with or without the speaker, but the buyer will have to ship me suitable cartons, pre-pay charges, insurance, and assume all responsibility for dealing with carrier damage. Brian K9VKY

WW2 National HRO-W Receiver

Date Posted By Category User IP
2017-07-09********Military/Surplus********
This rare wartime variation of the HRO family of receivers was used in radio intercept operations with American and Allied forces. The receiver comes with five coil sets covering 900 Kc in the standard broadcast band up to 30 Mc in the HF band. The coil sets are in the original wooden rack. Also included is an equally rare original military loudspeaker. The receiver is in working condition and compatible with the Type 697 power supply (not included) used with the post war civilian version HRO-5 receiver. That power supply delivers 6.3 VAC at 3.5 Amps for the filaments and 230 VDC at 70 ma for the B+.
The receiver is being offered on a try before buy, $320 cash and carry basis. I will consider shipping the radio and coil set with or without a correct LS-3 speaker (the incorrect LS-215 pictured is no longer available), but the buyer will have to ship me suitable cartons, pre-pay charges, insurance, and assume all responsibility for dealing with any carrier damage. E.H. Scott RBO

Date Posted By Category User IP
2017-06-23********Military/Surplus********
I have a WW-II era Navy RBO recreational
receiver. This was manufactured by E.H.Scott.
It was used for recreational use on US Navy
and Liberty ships. It has a very quiet IF so it
couldn't be tracked buy submarines. It is in
distressed condition, but it does work. It is
quite heavy but shippable if you have a
loading dock or can pick it up at a fedex
location. The shipping will probably cost more
than I am asking for the redio so Pickup at my
location would be best. I am asking $50.00.

Signal Corps G-43/G

Date Posted By Category User IP
2016-12-18********Military/Surplus********
$265 This is a complete NOS (New, Old
Stock) hand crank generator that provides
the filament and plate voltages for the GRC-
9 (Angry 9), BC-1306 or the GRC-109 spy
radio. This was the last of the hand crank
generators designed and built for these
radios. This generator was the upgrade
replacement for the GN-58 hand crank
generator.

My email: ic897d@gmail.com

If you would like me to regrease the
gearbox, that would be an additional
charge...just let me know after winning this
auction if you would like me to work with
you on this. The gearbox cleaning and
greasing takes about 3 hrs to do a good job
if you know what you're doing. I charge $75
for this...and can send you before/after set
of photos from my own genset.

I use one of these, and have replaced all
the old grease in it...I recommend doing that
for any extended operation.

If you are interested in reading more about
this equipment, I highly recommend Tim's
excellent website for photos and history:

n6cc.com/angrc-9-radio-set

This classified includes the following:
G-43/G generator
Two new hand crank handles
Folding seat/stand
Canvas carry bag for the generator, handles
and other accessories
A soft copy of the technical manual, TM 11-
5122 (via email)

Feel free to shoot me any questions!

This item may have a few minor marks from
assembly and test...but it is fresh out of the
depot box.

SHIPPING
Shipping is a flat $55 to the lower 48 states.
Alaska and Hawaii ARE EXTRA. CHECK
WITH ME before paying if you are from
those states. I will ONLY SHIP TO THE
USA. No out of country buyers please.

This is a heavy item, and I will carefully box
and pack this.
Additional Notes on compatibility
For those curious, this will work fine with the
SCR-694 radio setup (BC-1306). Also, as
Tim points out on his website, when
equipped with a GRC-9 Transceiver, the
'system' is an AN/GRC-87. He has some
great photos and stories on his website so I
encourage you to check that out.

This is a NOS item still in some of the depot
packaging, including the packing slip. This
includes the tripod seat, a canvas bag and
the hand cranks.

Signal Corps FT-482

Date Posted By Category User IP
2016-12-18********Military/Surplus********
$65 plus $25 for shipping to lower 48.

This is an original USGI mounting plate for
the Signal Corps BC-1306 used widely in
WWII. This is a late USGI manufactured
item (post WWII), it is not an aftermarket
reproduction unit. I have a photo of the box
with the NSN number but this auction does
NOT include the original box...that is shown
for reference.

Items in this condition for your WWII gear
are getting really hard to find.

The canvas straps do not show ANY signs
of rot typical with items this old...and the
buckles have ZERO rust on them. SEE
THE PHOTO

If you are looking for a mount for your BC-
1306, you cannot get anything better than
this. The fact that they were still fabricating
this mount 13 years after the Korean War
ended...well, I suppose it just goes to show
how durable the BC-1306 transceiver was.
