There are a lot of different ways to remote and I've tried quite a few of them, including writing my own custom remote software in Labview.  My remote system right now is pretty basic: Win7 PC at the station with a Yaesu FTDX-3000 with Yaesu's software, VB-audio virtual cables, Win 10 or Linux at the user end, Chrome remote desktop, IP-sound and No-IP domain.   Not only do I remote the radio, but I also have the added benefit of remoting my home PC.  I have used this same basic setup with a TS-940 (with Labview), a TS-440 (with Labview) and a Flex-1500 (with PwrSDR).  IP-sound is a pain in the neck but once configured to get by the IP address updates, router, etc, it has the lowest latency and best fidelity of anything I've tried.

On a different note but along the same lines, does anyone remember SuperComShack64?  My TS-440 was remoted to the local 2M repeater using that system back in 1986!  Full duplex link back to my house.  That was neat!  I used to call CQ mobile on 160M SSB with a full sized diople and 1000W.  I know - not fair but fun.

So many ways to do this.....have fun!

Remoterig doesn't require a pic to work.  I ordered my wireless modem today, so crossing my fingers that I can get the station on the air this weekend.

Got it, now on to getting it configured!
