Any news on the free Win10 download for R/Pi 2nd gen "B"?

I'm anxious to know when we can download Win10, any word on when?

I just joined their IoT Development program, hopefully they will inform us on when the download is available.

I received this in an email, "...We’re really excited to let you know that now you can download Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview, with support for Raspberry Pi 2. Windows 10 IoT Core is a new Windows 10 edition for low-cost, small-footprint devices that is available free for Makers. Learn more at Windows on Devices..."

Some of the important links are here:
To download - http://ms-iot.github.io/content/win10/SetupRPI.htm
RP2 & MS Win10 - https://www.raspberrypi.org/windows-10-for-iot/
Win-on-devices - http://www.windowsondevices.com/

Apparently, to load the "8GB micro SD card", its necessary to have a PC that has "Win10 Insider Preview" running. I assume this is the new Win10 operating system, available as a beta copy, or what they are calling, "Insider Preview". I guess one can download the .ISO file, and then have it overwrite your Windows OS on your PC (which will ruin your OS, unless it's loaded somewhere else and will allow a choice of OS to boot?)
Did I get this right, or not?

My question is why can't a vendor (Or Microsoft) just sell the SD cards with the Win10 OS on the card?

The official Windows 10 update takes place on July 29th; it is free for 1 year from that date for anyone that has Windows 7 Home/Professional/Ultimate, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 Home/Professional.  Here are a couple of links that provide more detailed update information:

I am using the Microsoft Insider version, build 10130 and I hate it. There are so many bugs in it that makes it a "Pain". The Orkin Man would run!! The bad part is it CAN NOT be uninstalled like Vista.. If you allowed the window to be placed on your task bar, uninstall it or when the release comes, you are stuck. Go to the control panel, uninstall program, windows updates and look for  update with the # KB3035583 and uninstall it. That will prevent any automatic updates. I would wait until MS has more time and revisions before I downloaded 10.
Just my 2 pennies.

You do know that it's in no way a functional version of Windows, right? The only part they are releasing for Pi is some network stuff for IoT applications. No desktop, nothing. Essentially useless unless you can't use the mass of already-available open-source stuff out there for Pi.

Yeah, I hate what MicroSoft has been saying and the IT news reporters that just echoed what MS marketeers released. So, we had to do the analysis of what it is, and finally figured this out, and......it's all about NOTHING.
