I thought I should warn my fellow hams to be careful around Jon Weiner,
K1VVC. We struck a solid deal and he backed out - see
http://www.aa4ga.com/2015/08/k1vvc-caveat-emptor.html for the gory
details. Honorable sellers do not engage in "seller's remorse".
He has apparently had many successful transactions in the past, but
IMO is not 100% trustworthy.

Both of you are in the WRONG. He cancels an auction that he already has bids on so that he can relist it with a Buy It Now option so you can buy it for $175. You wanted him to list it for $500 and then accept a Make Offer deal, which he did. Someone beat you to the offer with an offer of $250 and he accepted that offer. Now you are pissed because your crooked deal did not work out. Karma is a bitch, isn't she?
All of this was totally unfair to anyone who had bids already placed on the item. How is it fair for the auction to be cancelled, thus cancelling the current bids, just do you can "fix" the auction so that you "win" the item - whether using buy it now or make an offer? This is also against eBay's policies and both of you should be reported to eBay for manipulating an on going auction.
BOTH of you have demonstrated low moral character by your actions and that makes both of you not trustworthy. That one crook screwed over another crook (he accepted a offer higher than yours) is not surprising. Coming and publicly admitting your and his attempt at "fixing" an eBay auction is not very smart either. But who ever said crooks are smart?
Shame of both of you!
