K1VVC - Jon Weiner
« on: August 25, 2015, 07:53:24 PM »

I thought I should warn my fellow hams to be careful around Jon Weiner,
K1VVC. We struck a solid deal and he backed out - see
http://www.aa4ga.com/2015/08/k1vvc-caveat-emptor.html for the gory
details. Honorable sellers do not engage in "seller's remorse".

He has apparently had many successful transactions in the past, but
IMO is not 100% trustworthy.

Both of you are in the WRONG.  He cancels an auction that he already has bids on so that he can relist it with a Buy It Now option so you can buy it for $175.  You wanted him to list it for $500 and then accept a Make Offer deal, which he did.  Someone beat you to the offer with an offer of $250 and he accepted that offer.  Now you are pissed because your crooked deal did not work out.  Karma is a bitch, isn't she?

All of this was totally unfair to anyone who had bids already placed on the item.  How is it fair for the auction to be cancelled, thus cancelling the current bids, just do you can "fix" the auction so that you "win" the item - whether using buy it now or make an offer?  This is also against eBay's policies and both of you should be reported to eBay for manipulating an on going auction.

BOTH of you have demonstrated low moral character by your actions and that makes both of you not trustworthy.  That one crook screwed over another crook (he accepted a offer higher than yours) is not surprising.  Coming and publicly admitting your and his attempt at "fixing" an eBay auction is not very smart either.  But who ever said crooks are smart?

Shame of both of you!

You should have requested that he make the auction private, so that only you could have seen it.

He did what you requested, and got a better offer.  That's how it works.

AA4GA’s web page detailing his plan to save a few bucks on a 2NT by scheming with seller K1VVC to replace an existing eBay auction with a new sham listing is certainly interesting reading:

http://www.aa4ga.com/2015/08/k1vvc-caveat-emptor.html

AA4GA’s own words to K1VVC, telling him exactly how he wanted the new listing rigged:

“You could list it for like 500 with a "make offer" option - that way I could make the 175 offer and you could accept - that would preclude someone jumping in and getting it for 175 that wasn't me! ;-)”

The seller cancelled the ongoing auction and re-listed the 2NT the way AA4GA wanted, but alas, the seller then accepted a higher offer.   AA4GA complains:

“WTF?? That just blew my mind!  Gentlemen don't reach an agreement and then back out” …..”So, my recommendation for dealings with K1VVC is to be very careful.”

I’d be careful dealing with either one.
