Registration is now open for the 2016 USA championships of Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF), which will take place April 7 through 10.  Primary site of the competitions will be the Parrie Haynes C5 Youth Ranch and Equestrian Center, about ten miles southwest of Killeen, Texas.

An optional training day will be Wednesday, April 6, just prior to the championships.  Thursday, April 7 will be devoted to foxoring, a combination of radio direction finding and classic orienteering.  Friday morning will be the sprint event, followed by a catered lunch, competitor meeting, and model event for equipment testing.

Classic two-meter and 80-meter competitions will take place Saturday and Sunday, respectively.  There will be an awards banquet on Saturday evening for presentation of medals for foxoring, sprint and two-meter classic.  Awards for 80-meter classic will be given Sunday afternoon immediately after the competition, in time for those who most leave to get home.

Organizing Co-Chairs for the 2016 USA Championships are Jennifer and Kenneth Harker, W5JEN and WM5R.  They have competed at the USA Championships almost every year since 2003 and have won numerous medals.  They represented USA at the ARDF World Championships in 2008, 2010 and 2014.  Assisting them will be members of the Austin Orienteering Club.

The Event Information Page in the Texas ARDF Web site (http://www.texasardf.org/usa2016/) includes the schedule, technical detaila, sites, plus details about transportation, lodging, site embargoes, tourism, weather and much more.  Information about the sport of ARDF is at http://www.homingin.com.

Please pass this message along to anyone interested in on-foot hidden transmitter hunting.

Post is a bit late since today is September 17, 2016. Doesn't anyone at E-Han check to see if posts are current before posting?

Actually, I would question why an ARRL originated notice was event sent out after the fact?  E-Ham can't be everyone's nanny.

OR

Was this a glitch in the E-Ham forum software?

Will we EVER know?

The post is dated February, prior to the event. Was there some
reason you thought it was more recent?
