Review of HobbyPCB RS-UV3 Radio Shield in April QST Magazine

A review of HobbyPCB RS-UV3 Radio Shield appears in the in April issue of QST Magazine.  If you have not yet seen this device, it provides a 2M/1.25M/70CM, 200MW, FM transceiver that can be interfaced to an Arduino as a shield.  Some features include:

- On-board charger for a LiON battery
- Power for an attached Arduino board
- CTCSS encode/decode
- DTMF encode/decode
- TTL serial interface for control functions
- Beacon transmitter that operates in MCW and CW modes
- Status signals including COR (useful for a repeater) and Squelch state
- TRRS jack for optional Speaker/Microphone
- Auto-ID function

A 5W, tri-band amplifier is in the works.
