ON3BM,

I am just starting to test this software.  I have it working for dual receive stereo audio but I haven't hooked up the PTT yet.  The documentation is pretty clear on how to hook it up.  You don't need an external Arduino, the connections to the footswitch and to the radio are both done with serial DB9 cables.  You need one from your remote computer to the footswitch, and another connected to your host/radio computer.

I will let you know how it works after I get it working.

I finally got around to connecting serial ports to the Rem Aud server and client for the PTT footswitch.  The setup was very easy and it works great.  The only "disadvantage" is that you can't turn the audio connection off, so if you want to use Rem Aud for the PTT footswitch, you also have to use it for audio.  I have been using Skype for audio and have been very happy with it.  I really wanted a footswitch, so I have switched to Rem Aud for the audio.  It has advantages over Skype but the setup can be complex if the defaults don't work for you.

One big advantage of Rem Aud is that it supports a stereo connection.  I tested this with an Elecraft KX3 and it worked well for listening to the dual watch.  It does take twice the bandwidth and this was an issue with my slow DSL Internet.  My primary remote rig is an Elecraft K3 and I don't have the dual receiver installed yet.  I may hold off on buying the dual receiver until I get an option for faster Internet.
