10 meters has been open quite a bit lately!  I keep an 11 meter radio tuned to 38 LSB and squelched.   When the "skip shooters" start breaking the squelch, 10 is usually open!  ::)

Interesting!  10 meters has been good most of the day on the east coast US.  Even the 11 meter CB "skip shooters" on 38 lower sideband have been chatting non stop!!

I'm never around when the band opens anymore. I've listened many times during the weekends but haven't heard anything in months.

A question:  How is it that, although 10 meters has been terrible on the East Coast of the US for weeks, when I get on e-ham I see that the Europeans are all talking to each other on 10?  Why should they have propagation and not us?

The Europeans are using E-skip propagation to work each other--this can be quite exciting for them, as this mode of propagation can file in the "donut hole" between normal ionspheric propagation and short distance scatter paths.  While there is an "E-skip season," the exact time and place of E skip clouds is highly unpredictable.

Not much on 10, but the CBers are still partying.  I'm in NJ, and I hear Cleveland Ohio, Illinois, west NY, someone else running an Icom 756...  :D

Last night, around 11PM Eastern, there were several Midwest ragchews going on around 28.450. There was also a 10 10 net. Not to bad for night time.
