SeaPac has been extraordinarily good this year
« on: June 04, 2016, 11:03:32 PM »

Just finished up the second day of SeaPac in Seaside OR. Great gathering of hams!

Friday's workshop on SDR was one of the best things I've ever attended. If you missed it, (and, obviously, most of you did :-) ) your loss. The slides from the decks should be on www.tapr.org soon. Not the same as being there, but, if you have any interest at all in SDR (and if you don't, you'll soon not have any other choices so might as well start studying up) they're well worth reviewing.

Everything else is first rate as well. Facility is good, lots of vendors show up, decent indoor flea market space, and the education sessions are well done. About 2,200 people preregistered this year they said tonight.

Traffic to vendors was highly variable. Traffic at Kenwood was non-existent, Yaesu not so much  either. Flex and Icom had lots of traffic (no surprise), but Elecraft clearly took the prize. Very busy with one person sitting all day doing nothing but writing up orders. HRO was doing brisk business as were a number of other vendors.

Thanks to all the almost 100 volunteers that work throughout the year to put this thing on. Well done!
