I was a member of the 10-10 International for about two years, back in the early nineties. I decided, that the dues are not worth the benefits. Paying them did not make propagation any better on the 10m band, so I dropped my interest in the club.  ;D

I have been a 10-10 member for years, fist started back in KH6 land in the early 90’s. 10 is hot and cold, keep calling and all of a sudden stations come out of the woodwork!! Then it goes dead, but that’s half the fun. If you have A 10-10 NUMBER you will get many more contacts, it seems like most every 10 who guy/gal operates on it regularly has a 10-10 number. Paid members get the newsletter, just got mine 2 weeks ago.
As a note, your 10-10 number is good for a lifetime, use it often.

Could you get an old lower 10-10 number from someone who cancelled their membership?

I don't know if 1010 would allow that. But since 1010 numbers are issued for ever. There is nothing that would prevent someone from obtaining a vanity call that is connected with a low 1010 number.

Look up the 1010 # data base and see what the lowest number is and then put that particular call into the available vanity call database and get those call letters as a vanity.

It would be absolutely fine if a son wanted his deceased father's call and dad had a low 1010 #.  But a ham in their teens or twenties that got a vanity call with a very low 1010 # issued in the 1960's will be questioned on why they sound so young for being 50 years old lol.

In one word,........... No.

the By-laws clearly answer this issue, ALL applicants will be issued a "unique" number.

The data base is updated regularly.

the 10-10 #will be designated as being assigned to an "SK" member and it will never be issued again to anyone.

Joined 10-10 International a few years back, around 1973 I think...#11234. Easy to remember that one. Used to "chase paper" back in the day and have a lot of certificates. They don't seem to exist any longer but it was fun. This was in the early 1970's. I made a lot of "on the air" friends back then. Not the same today. It's by far my favorite band...when it's open.

I think they are still out there, I had 54005 back in the late 80's, took a 25 year break and just a few weeks ago was actually asked for it when there was a 10M opening one day. I had no clue  and he kept asking what it was then the guy looked it up for me, I too quit paying the dues long ago as there was very little benefit, but apparently the number is for life.

10-10 regularly conducts 9 contests/QSO parties per year, sometimes more if there is a particular reason.

Aug 5 - 6 is the Summer phone

Oct 10 (10 - 10) is the SPRINT
