Attended the Shelby, NC, hamfest today. Thanks to the recent heavy rain, the temperature was down and it was a clear dry day. This has always been, and still is, a pretty good hamfest provided that you're prepared for the normally extreme heat and humidity (no shade, but a couple of A/C buildings). There were lots of small parts vendors, along with booths representing MFJ, Elecraft and The Wireman. Lots of other booths of course, and a few forums. There were a lot of booths and tables selling CB gear, including the typical illegal amplifiers. If you can work around the Labor Day weekend scheduling, this is still a hamfest worth attending.
