how do I connect a heil headset wirelessly to my transceiver??
« on: October 28, 2016, 02:25:08 PM »

I would like to connect to my transceiver and to my heil pro7 headphones wirelessly so that I may move about around the house.  I have seem some dated sites that use a bluetooth headset, but I would like to use the headset I have and add an :adapter: to the headset rather than rely on a single earpiece setup.

Can anyone suggest a supplier or a design that would fill this requirement, thank you in advance. N4MQ Woody

The old easy way to get bluetooth was to use the Jabra A-210, they were cheap adapters, but are getting hard to find. Unless you rigged up transmitter to trigger the push to talk you were going to be limited to VOX.

Im sure there are new offerings out there, I found this one for $20

Heil has a bluetooth solution you may be able to adapt/incorporate. Its the Heil HBA for under $120

Blucomm also had bluetooth adapters.

Lot of options, you can buy very cheap 433 mhz transmitters and receivers if you want to get away from
bluetooth and dont mind a small project.

Woody, adding a Bluetooth adapter is just one more thing to worry about as far as something to fail at the wrong time - a rechargeable battery dying, or wiring adapter going weird on you right in the middle of a conversation.

Not sure which bands you are working, but some use an HT and crossband repeat from outside to their base rigs ...

Here's Heil's adapter -
