I believe that we have been conditioned to expect instant service and gratification when in restaurants, stores, customer service interaction, etc.  So when we encounter a glitch or in this case a late shipment we feel cheated and lash out in frustration such as in this thread.  If you now feel better that you let this out then perhaps it's a good thing..you got it off your chest.  The fact that others thought that you indignantly over reacted and some let you have it should not surprise you.  Whenever you complain about something that really bothers you to others (either in a message forum or in person) you have to expect that others will be turned off by your rant or just agree in sympathy.  The bottom line here is this:  Do you feel better or worse after reading the responses to your supposed plight?
Wow...  Free psychological assistance!  I like it!  The sad part is KC2QYM is probably correct...

Lets talk about the fact you didn't plan your project in advance to make sure you had everything you needed.  Waiting till the last minute is your issue not theirs.

That is not HRO's fault.

Lets talk about the fact everyone knows that multi-store companies ship from locations that can supply the entire order.  Only a moron would ASSUME otherwise.

Let talk about the fact when I order from HRO I always ask if everything is coming from Portland Or.  I am no genius but it didn't take me long to know I should ASK.

I'll send you a bottle of $3.99 Chilean wine to go with your cheese.

They shipped from Texas because the cheap MFJ cable was not in stock in Atlanta, so I got the order on Tuesday.   :o

The real issue is you purchased "cheap MFJ Cable". gzzz- at least spend a few extra bucks and get decent cable. You complain about such nonsense. Do you realize that margins are super thin? We are lucky to have dedicated retailers like HRO, DX Engineering around to serve the niche and declining amateur radio community.

I have seen this playbook before- you plan poorly, order cheap crap, and then blame someone else.  ???
Lesson learned- I suggest you take the advice of others that responded.
Good luck

Perhaps you should re-read the original post, he NEVER complained about the price and/or the quality of the ordered products.

I have made a huge number of purchases from HRO in Atlanta. There is no better sales staff and management team of any of the other amateur dealers that I have been able to find.

Couldn't agree more.

I purchased from HRO several times over the years without a problem. One time I asked that the item be shipped priority instead of standard and they did, but didn't charge me any extra.

Another time at Dayton they were out of stock with a item under $100 but they promised to ship it to me free of charge and received it 3 days later. Great company with fine customer service.

Check out their open box specials, there are some pretty good deals there too.

I recently ordered an FC-50 antenna tuner (a new product) for my new FT-891 from HRO. I ordered it thinking it was in stock (it wasn't and if I had paid attention to the screen page it clearly showed it wasn't  :P )

After I finished the transaction I got a phone call within 10 minutes from an HRO rep telling me the thing wasn't in stock. I said thanks just send it when you get them.

Pretty good service.

Ya' gotta admit...posting such nonsense, he had to expect the flames. Sometimes you gotta think before you write.

Let's carry that a step further. One should ALWAYS stop to think before they act, and that goes for everything.
It is important to keep in mind that ALL actions have consequences, some good, some bad, and some in the middle someplace.
A wise man considers the consequences of his actions BEFORE he acts.

Why don't we just put this to sleep. He is going to keep crying about what happen to him. And if he don't want to buy from HRO
this is a free country let him go where he wants to go. Now what happens if he had a problem with another company he will
be back on here crying again. Every time we comment about this i thing he gets his kicks. So lets stop given him his jollies.

Isn't it obvious from the OP and about three or four threads just like this one that these are nothing more than backhanded DX engineering plugs by shills?

I mean please.......

Wow...........Talk about a ONE sided point f view.  All you cared about was that it didn't go your way.   HRO is awesome!  And, as any business they MUST make a profit to stay in business.  If you were the business owner, you'd do the same thing they did.  HRO has always gone above and beyond the call of duty for me. If I call them first, and explain that I need the item asap. they ALWAYS ship the same day!   I've been dealing with hem for years and have no complaints at all, except I wish they had a store closer to me.  I give then the absolute highest recommendation possible!   I know.....some people you cannot please..........   Thanks HRO!
