Considering the amount of planning and preparation that many on this team put in going to Peter 1, I'm really quite surprised that they're running into these sorts of basic logistical problems on Clipperton. As another poster up-thread pointed out, if you can't keep everything and everyone dry, the rest is moot.

They have my sincerest thanks for being there, giving me an all-time New One on 8 bands and 3 modes (10m would have been nice, but so it goes). I wish them (and their logs) a safe and uneventful trip back home.

Night gathers and now my watch begins. It shall not end until I reach Top of the Honor Roll

Great times are at hand, and soon there will be DX for all—although more for some than for others.

I know...The ball was dropped as far as the most important item & basic item, the shelters..As you mentioned..this is/was the most basic, & most important. The cost of this mistake..damaged, unusable (loaned) equipment, valuable "QRV" time..lost, and most important, the welfare of those folks on Clipperton challenged by the elements because of this. Let's be thankful it wasn't in arctic conditions.. It obviously was not planned very well, as far as after they got there goes. Getting there seemed to go well, but it went to Hell in a Basket quickly from Day 1. Let's hope they get out of there & home before someone get's hurt.
