Nashua Area Radio Club 2016 Highlights Video
« on: December 07, 2016, 11:30:21 AM »

Our Club, the Nashua Area Radio Club, here in Nashua, NH USA recently produced a 2016 year in review video. We thought that some of the folks here might enjoy seeing it and perhaps other clubs might gain some ideas from the work that we have done. You can view the video on our home page -

We hope that you enjoy our video!

Nice to see a club that actually holds local chats on 10 meters on weekend evenings!  It's a great way to get new Techs to test their equipment on HF, instead of just using 2m/440 HTs with repeaters.  I wish more clubs would do the same!

Thank you ONAIR. Its really not hard to get an HF net going. All you need is a few folks who are local to get started. We sometimes do this on 6m as well. These bands are great for local nets during this part of the solar cycle. Also, the antennas are not large so its possible for folks to get on with something simple. Many of our club members put up an OCF dipole which covers 40m, 20m, 10m and 6m. This gives them some decent DX and NA contacts on 40/20m and they can use 10/6m for our nets.

We've also started doing a CW practice net for folks in our club who are learning the code on 10m. We start in SSB phone mode to get organized and then switch to CW.

All great fun! Hope that you get the chance to try this sometime.

All The Best and 73,
