I thought that, because I do Linux administration as a part of my job, setting up a Raspberry Pi as an igate would be a piece of cake. Turned out to be more of a... well, let's call it a "learning experience"... than I expected. The main struggle was getting the cheap, USB sound card to talk to direwolf in a way that it would understand. Finding the right settings for ARATE and FORMAT (direwolf parameters) was the key.
At this point it is receive only. Trying to decide if the next step should be to leave it connected to my 2m radio and get it working both tx and rx, or if I want to leave it rx-only and try to get it working with a cheap RTL-SDR.
In any case, it has been fun and informative getting as far as I have. These little RPi things are pretty cool!
