New SS Amps? AZDEN AZR 550FZ & AZR 1000

Just saw a post from the Japan Ham Fair for 2 new SS amps by AZDEN. The AZR 550FZ looks a lot like a Tokyo Hy Power clone and the AZR 1000 looks a little like an all black SPE Expert 1K.

Anyone have any more info or know of an english article about these amps? It's only in Japanese where I saw it.

The 550 watt amp is definitely a dead ringer for the THP. As for the 1kw amp, I bet we start seeing this type of amp start popping up from a lot of manufacturers. With a switching supply, a nice lower cost, efficient, fly weight solid state amplifier can be built using LDMOS FETs.

At 285,000 yen ($2,600) for a 550W SS amp...I'll pass and keep my AL 80B.
