Do You Run QRP During A SKCC WES?
« on: September 08, 2017, 09:18:01 PM »

Planning to run CW QRP portable Saturday 9th morning during the WES.
Curious as to just how many ops do a WES exclusively QRP, either at home or remote QTH, and how long doing so?
  Please and Thank You...

Lane

While I don't do it every time, I did try it one time. I made a number of contacts over several hours. WES is the one time I'll run a little more power for the benefit of those who are trying to copy. I have run into a couple of stations that were running QRP as well.

Hope it worked out for you.

I sit in the back yard with a KX2 in my lap and that's connected to an OCF40 at 35 feet. If I can hear them I can work them. I only use 5 watts but I'm not on all of the
time. I just jump in once in awhile for something to do.

Straight Key Century Club

WES = the clubs monthly Weekend Sprintathon.

Best CW Club around and their sprints and events are a lot of fun

Sure do since it's the only mode I operate anyway.

Thank you Don.

Sprints eh? I'm not a good racer. But the hobby's blessing...there is something for everyone and for everyone there is something.
