Jeff, the filtering is what makes this transverter a winner, Opening up the filters by a redesign would be a huge mistake. Just my opinion......
They make a 2200 version.

I wholeheartedly agree. Typical case where less is more. ;D

It's nasty down there!

I just remembered that I have an old LF receive converter from years ago when I wanted to be a "lowfer". I never heard much with it but that was before the now-widespread use of digital modes. It might be fun to see what it can do on 630m. Even though its specs say it's for 10-300 kHz, that range can be easily modified - the manual even gives you the math and examples on how to do that.

From the factory it's a 630m DX machine. I wonder what can be configured now or in the future thru the front panel USB connector. No one knows where the longwave ham bands are going. I'd order one of the transverters but winter is setting in here. I'm not messing with transmitting antennas now. I find the WSPR and CW listening to be fun enough.

Rob Sherwood, NC0B, just got one. I'm curious what he'll have to say about the transverter's performance.

AE5X: Simple $15 Jackson Harbor converters are well regarded for basic LW reception. I think they're still available from someone.

Very good. I also purchased this kit many moons ago for LowFer monitoring. Never got around building it. With the new band/s, Jackson Harbor must be selling a ton of kits.

I left the converter running last night and was glad to see that it is stable enough to decode digital signals. Details on my website. Happy Thanksgiving all!
